Run out of steam

Meaning:

If we run out of steam, we lose our energy to keep doing something. We can also say that we run out of gas.

Example sentences:

1. I ran out of steam.
2. I'm running out of steam.
3. He ran out of gas.

Example dialogue:

A: Did you see the game last night?
B: Yeah, it's too bad the Flames lost.
