Hot date

Meaning:

If you like someone, and you are interested in them romantically, you can ask them out on a date, or vice versa. If you're going on hot date, you are very excited about this date. We often use the word "hot" to describe someone who is very attractive, as in "He's hot" or "She's hot". So I think that's why the word "hot" is used here. We like to use this expression to joke around with a friend if they are going on a date. We will ask them if they have a hot date.

Example sentences:

1. I've got a hot date tonight.
2. He has a hot date tonight.
3. She is getting ready for her hot date tonight.

Example dialogue:

Two friends are talking about one friend's date.

A: Why are you all dressed up? Do you have a hot date tonight?
B: Actually, yes. I have a date with Hilary.
A: Well, good for you.
B: Thanks, I'm looking forward to it.

Practice:

Have you ever had a hot date? With who?
